Beauxdurwarts is a castle designed and thought up entirely by Wizard Portus. It's our version of all the Harry Potter schools mixed together; Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, and Hogwarts.
Beauxdurwarts contains over 80% of out site's content and is based in RP (roleplay) format. However, it is not completely RP. Throughout the castle, there are games, discussion, contests, and even places to submit your fanfiction for everyone to read.
Beauxdurwarts is full of twists and turns and many secret games and quests. You can take classes with our professors and even join clubs with your fellow students.
Wandering around the castle is what we call NPCs (non-player characters). These characters all have interesting histories and love to give the students quests. Quests are different tasks and adventures that the students must complete in order to win everything from house points to prizes.
Beauxdurwarts and its endless possibilities will always keep you on your toes with it's fun adventures and great ways to make friends. It is the center of Wizard Portus and is always growing and changing to keep things interesting.

Right now, we are in the process of creating a Marauder's Map, but until it is finished, you can come here if you get lost in the castle.
On every floor you will find rp threads, games, quests, and contests, but each floor has particular activities and things to participate in. You must travel around the castle to find everything from common rooms to class rooms, so it's easy to get lost.
Here is what each area of Beauxdurwarts contains:
The Southern Grounds

Are you a member of your House's Quidditch team or just want to watch the show? Here's where all the Quidditch games will take place.

Play games, piece together mysteries, and even compete against the other students in a game of Quidditch!

Claiming Center
Welcome to Wizard Portus' claiming center! Here you can claim characters, music, books, other random things etc. Have fun!

The First Floor
Hufflepuff Common Room
Fingledorf
The Great Hall of WP! This is the common room for everyone to come and hang out, regardless of House. Leave the House rivalries outside and come to the House of all Houses!
The House Cup
This is where we will keep the score or House Points and will acknowledge winners of all awards from the Quidditch World Cup to the Order of Merlin.

6th Floor
This place contains the entrance to the Astronomy Tower. However, since there are currently no Professors for Divination and Astronomy and the entire floor itself is almost rubble, you'll find nothing more on the 6th floor than a lonely ghost and some empty classrooms. Do you dare explore?

Quests are a new addition to Wizard Portus, but one of the largest.
A quest can be given by an NPC or a staff member and they are essentially tasks that you must complete for the quest-giver.
Completing a quest will earn you prizes of all sorts. Every time you complete a quest, you gain a level. Most often, the person who sent you on the quest will have a reward for you.
No one person can do the same quest twice. If you have done it once, you are not allowed to do it again.
Every time someone completes a quest, the quest will change a little. Always look to the last post to see the continuation of the quest. The posts will be edited to say who completed that particular variation of the quest. If the post is unedited, then that variation remains to be completed.
Whoever posts first is the person who completed the quest. For instance, if you are looking for a snitch and two people find it, the first person to post is the one who has solved it.
Quests will never involve sending owls. They will always take place in threads.
Quest winnings will remain the same for every quest. That's another reason that you should never complete the same quest twice.
Don't forget that you will automatically be given a level every time you complete a quest.
Make sure to look for specific requirements. We will be posting quests soon that require you have certain things in order to complete them. Do not attempt a quest that you do no fulfill the requirements for.
Speak to the NPCs as if they were regular people. They may be fake, but they still like to chat like anyone else.  (please remember that owls to NPCs will not be answered)

And NPC is what's called a "non-player character". NPCs are characters around the castle and off the grounds that are not real members. They are characters created by the Wizard Portus staff and each have their own personalities and pasts.
NPCs are there for one ultimate purpose: To give you something to do. From quests to contests, NPCs everywhere always have something that needs to be done, so look for them.
NPCs will often reward you with items and other such prizes when you do things for them, so take advantage of their opportunities.
An NPC looks like and other user profile with a few exceptions.
*Its username and member group is white
*It has no status bar (ie: student, moderator, official staff, etc)
*And it has hundreds of thousands of posts and stats.
An NPC can be anything from a ghost to a magical creature. The possibilities are endless.

Why are some classrooms missing?
If a class does not have a professor, the classroom is hidden.
